3.28.18 NEWSBOYS UNITED TOUR BLOG (NUMERO FIVE)
I hope this blog finds you well as we settle into the spring time! This weekend found the band in warmer climates down south for a four show run in Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Our first show of the run was in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the venue was a large church right in the heart of downtown. The bicylcle that we’re raffling off at our merch table was graciously “borrowed” quite a bit during the day, as we were close to the beautiful river front and the weather was balmy and beautiful. It was pretty killer!
The second show was in Lutz, FL (suburb of Tampa) and the show was sold-out and was the largest show or the tour thus far coming in close to 5,000 people! If there’s one thing we learned, it’s that Florida likes the Newsboys and now definitely loves Zealand too. 😉
THANK YOU to our friends at The Joy FM for supporting Zealand and also spinning our newest single, Spirit Sing. We feel the love!!
From Florida, we headed to Dothan, AL to play at the Civic Center, which we as a band played in 2016 on tour with MercyMe. It felt great to be back in Dothan with a whole new set of music and a renewed vision for what we’re doing as a band! We were able to get some songwriting and recording in our little dressing room “studio” in between snagging a few cups coffee from our favorite Dothan spot, Bird & Bean Coffee House.
The last show of the run was in Jackson, MS, which means we got to see some good friends that we’ve made as a band through leading worship at youth conferences. It’s been so cool to travel through familiar towns across America and see our friends from past Zealand worship events in the crowd.
This week we are back home with our friends and families to celebrate Easter and enjoy a few days of rest! Thank you to everyone who came out this week to the Newsboys United Tour. We have aroud 20 shows left on the spring tour and its going fast!!
