4.18.18 NEWSBOYS UNITED TOUR BLOG (NUMERO SEVEN)
This past week of shows was a blast and a bit of a whirlwind on all fronts!
This run on the Newsboys United Tour found the band in Winston-Salem, NC for a show and then New Bern, NC, where the tour did two sold-out nights. The band continued it's line-up from last week's shows with Phil's 14 year old son, Eden Joel, on drums, due to Ben Bugna's adventures in Thailand, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. After the Winston-Salem, NC show, our friend Colten Unger jumped in to play guitar and keys while I left the tour for a few days to meet my family in Minneapolis, MN for a funeral. Colten did a masterful job and I've heard nothing but amazing things about him holding down the fort on guitar and keys!
Since the Newsboys United Tour had two back to back shows in New Bern, NC, Newsboys' manager fired up the barbie and treated all of the musicians and crew to an "Aussie-style BBQ" with freshly barbecued lamb chops, straight from the Steve Campbell recipe vault. You can't buy barbecue this good!
Next week the tour will be hitting the East coast in Worcester, MA / Newark, DE / Binghamton, NY / and State College, PA. Al
See you at a show!
